Power Plant Superintendent

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Power Plant Superintendent to lead operations of a diesel‑generator power plant supporting a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures reliable, safe, and efficient power generation in a remote, austere environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operation and maintenance of three‑phase/60 Hz diesel generators (≥1,000 kW) and associated systems.
• Monitor compliance with safety standards, operational protocols, and efficiency targets.
• Assign tasks, develop procedures to optimize generation, and minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and maintain documentation for compliance and readiness.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience operating diesel‑engine generators of the specified size.
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid passport with at least one year remaining.
• Ability to obtain necessary visas, pass medical requirements, and maintain facility credentials.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making skills in an industrial setting.
