About the role
Amentum is seeking an Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) to manage water treatment and distribution operations for a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, compliant water supply while leading a team of certified operators.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of water treatment plants (WTP) and distribution systems in line with CNIC M-5090.1A and other regulations.
- Supervise certified plant operators and technicians, coordinating schedules and temporary replacements.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to maintain water quality and system uptime.
- Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, and performance records.
- Manage water testing, reporting, and compliance with quality assurance standards.
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken English with internal staff and external stakeholders.
Required profile
- Certified Level III Treatment and Level III Distribution operator.
- 1‑3 years experience in water treatment, distribution, or similar plant operations.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English.
- Valid passport (minimum 1‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain facility credentials.
