Material Management Specialist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Material Management Specialist to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures procurement, inventory, distribution and tracking of materials are performed efficiently and in compliance with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage material inventory, maintain stock levels, and track usage and restocking schedules.
• Oversee procurement processes, including ordering, receiving and issuing supplies.
• Monitor storage facilities for proper handling, safety compliance and proper distribution of materials.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays or back‑orders.
• Prepare inventory and material usage reports for management review.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in material management, procurement or inventory control.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and maintain operational readiness.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory management systems, ERP or material tracking tools.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics and warehousing processes.
• Experience handling hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and complying with safety and environmental protocols.
