Marine Sandblaster / Painter

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Marine Sandblaster – Painter to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing, restoring, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces on marine vessels, equipment, and facilities using abrasive blasting and coating techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sandblasting, sanding, scuffing, and other surface preparation methods to remove rust, corrosion, old coatings, and marine growth.
• Apply primers, sealers, paints, specialty marine coatings, and waterproofing membranes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Mask surrounding equipment, protect surfaces, and reinstall fixtures after painting activities.
• Inspect completed work for compliance with quality, safety, and coating specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in paint preparation, abrasive blasting, sanding, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to obtain necessary visas and credentials.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to read and comprehend English work orders, technical drawings, and specifications.
