Marina Safety Specialist & MWR Purchasing Coordinator

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Marina Safety Specialist / MWR Purchasing Coordinator to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role combines daily marina management with procurement support for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee marina operations, ensuring safe use of boats, docks, and recreational equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections of vessels, life‑saving gear, fuel storage, and dock facilities.
• Enforce safety rules, environmental regulations, and Navy/Amentum standards.
• Provide safety briefings, equipment orientation, and emergency‑procedure training.
• Monitor weather and water hazards, adjusting activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents, document actions, and maintain logs and inspection records.
• Process purchasing requests for MWR programs, obtain vendor quotes, prepare purchase orders, and track procurement actions.
• Maintain inventory records, coordinate deliveries, and support budget tracking.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in marina operations, boating safety, procurement, or related fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in boating safety or recreation management preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Water Safety, Hazardous Materials Communication, etc.) and annual recertification.
• Valid passport with at least one year validity beyond hire date and ability to obtain necessary visas.
• Ability to meet contract medical, security, and deployment requirements.
• Proficient English communication skills.
