Machinery Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

Amentum seeks a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia, performing inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of automobiles, trucks, and heavy machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems using testing and diagnostic equipment and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Inspect equipment for safety deficiencies, order parts, and ensure repairs meet quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance to other mechanics and review maintenance reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of automotive/heavy equipment experience.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Ability to meet contract medical and security requirements for deployment.

Required skills

• Automotive and heavy equipment repair.
• Use of diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
