Fuels Accountant – Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Fuels Accountant to establish and operate the finance and budget office for a new government contract based in Diego Garcia. The role supports fuel management, budgeting, procurement, and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare budgets and financial data for review and approval by the Fuels Terminal Manager.
• Oversee procurement operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and government regulations.
• Develop contract modification documents with cost estimates and supporting rationale.
• Submit monthly invoices and reports to the Government in accordance with contract requirements.
• Manage inventory, verify shipments, and coordinate transportation of fuel and related items.
• Compute fuel requirements for flight operations based on aircraft type, distance, weather, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience in fuels account processing, including budgeting, reporting, and month‑end close.
• Three years of leadership experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport, driver’s license, Secret US Government clearance, and meet medical and deployment requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of manual and automated fuel management and accounting systems.
• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products.
