Cement Mason for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cement Mason to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves construction, remodeling, and renovation tasks in a remote overseas environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Repair, maintain, and alter buildings, mix mortar, lay bricks, and install concrete sidewalks.
• Finish concrete surfaces, including floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs, using hand and power tools.
• Prepare detailed reports on concrete projects for management.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of masonry experience or trade school training in concrete work.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment with cross‑cultural sensitivity.

Required skills

• Concrete mixing and finishing techniques.
• Bricklaying and mortar preparation.
• Use of hand tools (floats, trowels, screeds) and power tools.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
