Cable and Antenna Systems Specialist

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Cable and Antenna Systems Specialist to support a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves maintaining, inspecting, repairing, and installing high‑frequency (HF) and very‑high‑frequency (VHF) antenna systems to ensure reliable communications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HF and VHF antenna systems.
• Work aloft on antenna structures, adhering to all safety standards.
• Assemble, install, and repair antenna hardware and outside‑plant equipment using erection tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair cables, reflectors, waveguides, and other antenna components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and submit detailed reports.
• Follow RF Radiation Hazard safety guidelines and complete required safety training.
• Evaluate and recommend materials and tools for antenna upkeep.
• Coordinate with team members and other departments to deliver efficient maintenance services.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience maintaining antennas and related components.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity at hiring.
• Medical fitness to work aloft and pass contract medical requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
