Fuel System Electrician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Fuel System Electrician to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and controls for fueling operations, ensuring safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fuel system components such as pumps, motors, conduits, and control panels.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to maximize reliability and safety of fueling systems.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints related to fueling infrastructure.
• Maintain, repair, replace, and test wiring, components, and controls, adhering to technical and safety standards.
• Test circuits and equipment using voltmeters, ammeters, and insulation resistance testers.
• Calibrate and inspect electrical equipment and control devices for fuel storage, transfer, and distribution.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and document inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure safe and efficient operation of fuel systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental standards, and government regulations.
• Maintain accurate records in the maintenance management system and respond promptly to system malfunctions.

Required profile

• Adherence to occupational safety and health standards and consistent use of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to document maintenance activities and follow established procedures.
• Willingness to work onsite in Diego Garcia and support US Navy fuel system operations.
