Financial Analyst – US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Financial Analyst to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The analyst will evaluate financial data, ensure budgeting and reporting compliance, and provide actionable recommendations to drive strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze budgets, expenditures, and financial reports to support accurate forecasting and planning.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports in line with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor accounts and perform variance analyses comparing budgets, forecasts, and actual spend.
• Assist with budget formulation, allocation, and tracking to ensure adherence to approved limits.
• Identify financial trends, assess risks, and advise leadership on corrective actions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
• Collaborate with program managers, contract administrators, and cross‑functional teams for accurate financial execution.
• Provide pricing support and cost analysis during proposal and bid development.
• Maintain records for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with FAR and DFARS.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or budgeting.
• Working knowledge of financial management systems and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of U.S. Government financial regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity for international travel.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using financial management systems.
• Familiarity with reporting tools.
• Understanding of FAR and DFARS compliance requirements.
