Dental Assistant – US Navy Program Support

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Dental Assistant to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The role involves providing chair‑side assistance, maintaining dental records, and ensuring a safe, efficient clinic environment for military personnel and civilian staff.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate medical/dental records for all employees, including pre‑employment exams, x‑rays, and treatment histories.
• Assist dentists during patient visits by preparing and sterilizing instruments, managing treatment rooms, and providing chair‑side support.
• Capture dental radiographs following safety and quality protocols.
• Provide patients with oral hygiene guidance and post‑treatment instructions.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and request replacements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. government regulations and infection‑control standards.
• Support medical and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Certification or diploma in Dental Assisting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, including chair‑side assistance and dental radiography.
• Strong knowledge of dental instrument sterilization and infection‑control practices.
• Proficiency in detailed medical and dental record keeping.
