Crane Operator & Rigger Foreman – Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Crane Operator/Rigger Foreman to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role oversees crane operations and supervises rigging activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with mission requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cranes safely in accordance with NAVFAC P‑307 and other regulations.
• Lead and direct rigging personnel during lifting operations.
• Inspect and certify rigging tools, slings, hardware and lifting devices.
• Develop, review and implement lift plans, evaluating loads, weather and site conditions.
• Conduct routine crane inspections, maintenance coordination and documentation.
• Assign daily work, monitor progress and communicate safety or operational concerns to management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience operating cranes and performing rigging.
• Ability to supervise or coordinate crane and rigging personnel.
• Valid certifications for crane operation, rigging, and signal person per NAVFAC P‑307.
• Possession of a passport valid for at least one year and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
