Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC)

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC) to support a U.S. Navy water‑treatment program on Diego Garcia. The role assists in operating and maintaining a water‑treatment plant that delivers safe drinking water while complying with state and federal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating the water‑treatment plant to produce clean, safe drinking water.
• Monitor and control equipment processes, making adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
• Collect and analyze water samples for pH, chlorine, turbidity and other parameters.
• Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and test results.
• Respond to emergencies such as power outages or equipment failures to ensure continuous water supply.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and chemical handling.

Required profile

• Current certification as a Level II Treatment and Level II Distribution operator.
• Valid operator’s certification maintained per CNIC M5090.1A requirements.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend English for contract performance and emergency procedures.
• Passport valid for at least one year and ability to obtain required visas.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
• Preferred: experience in an austere OCONUS environment and a valid driver’s license.
