Technical Librarian (Facilities)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Technical Librarian (Facilities) to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves managing a centralized technical library that serves facilities and infrastructure operations, ensuring that all engineering and maintenance documentation is current, accurate, and readily accessible.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and catalogue technical documents, including engineering drawings, equipment manuals, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer data.
• Ensure compliance with library management standards, applying proper indexing, filing, storage, and version control.
• Provide technical documentation and references to engineering, maintenance, and operational personnel upon request.
• Perform regular audits and updates of technical materials to meet operational, organizational, and Navy standards.
• Implement and oversee document control processes, authorizations, and distribution of technical data.
• Support and manage Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) for storing and disseminating information.
• Develop procedures for library workflows, document retention, storage standards, archive setup, and security of controlled materials.
• Train staff and contractors on proper use of the technical library and electronic resources.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience managing technical libraries, document control, or similar roles within facilities management or engineering.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with technical documents such as engineering drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance records.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain them for the duration of deployment.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and willingness to travel internationally.
