Payroll Timekeeping Specialist

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Payroll Timekeeping Specialist to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures accurate recording, processing, and reporting of employee work hours while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and process employee timekeeping records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and contractual requirements.
• Input, maintain, and reconcile work hours in the payroll system for timely payroll runs.
• Review timesheets and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare bi‑weekly, semi‑monthly, or monthly payroll, including overtime, holiday, and leave calculations.
• Generate standard and ad‑hoc timekeeping and payroll reports for management and client review.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and timekeeping inquiries.
• Conduct periodic audits and support internal and external payroll audits.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information.
• Provide training on timekeeping procedures and system usage.
• Assist in improving timekeeping policies, processes, and software tools.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in payroll, time management, or related administrative support.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
• English reading, speaking, and comprehension sufficient for contract duties and emergency procedures.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.

Required skills

• Proficiency with payroll/timekeeping systems.
• Strong knowledge of payroll procedures and labor law compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
