Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Supervisor

About the role

The Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Supervisor will lead the upkeep of Non‑Tactical Vehicle Equipment, Weight Handling Equipment, Material Handling Equipment and Ordnance Handling Equipment for a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. This position ensures equipment reliability, safety and operational readiness through effective supervision and planning.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repair activities on NTVE, WHE, MHE and OHE.
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment availability.
• Diagnose complex equipment issues, troubleshoot malfunctions and determine optimal repair methods.
• Lead a team of mechanics and technicians, providing guidance, training and performance oversight.
• Monitor workflow, allocate resources to priority tasks and resolve delays.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts usage and equipment performance documentation.
• Enforce safety standards, operational procedures and environmental regulations.
• Conduct inspections to verify repair quality and operational readiness.
• Manage inventory of tools, consumables and spare parts for efficient stock control.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to support mission‑critical projects.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of journeyman‑level experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Experience with Non‑Tactical Vehicle Equipment, Weight Handling Equipment or similar systems preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a demanding operational environment.
