Heavy Truck Driver

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Heavy Truck Driver to support a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating a range of earth‑moving equipment safely and efficiently while coordinating material movement for the project.

Key responsibilities

• Operate earth‑moving equipment such as motor graders, front‑end loaders, backhoes, excavators, vibratory rollers, water trucks, ditch‑witch trenchers, and bobcat skidsteer/tracksteer.
• Inspect, clean and perform operator‑level maintenance on equipment in accordance with standards.
• Conduct daily safety checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations, contract requirements, and company policies.
• Interact with customers to coordinate movement of materials and equipment.
• Complete required documentation, reporting, and limited office duties.
• Store and secure equipment properly after use.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years experience operating earth‑moving equipment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and passport valid for at least one year.
• Ability to obtain required visas and pass contract medical requirements.
• Proficiency in English sufficient to follow emergency procedures.
