Fitness Instructor

About the role

Amentum is looking for a motivated Fitness Instructor to join a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will lead group exercise classes, support patrons in using fitness equipment safely, and promote a healthy, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct group fitness classes using safe, effective techniques.
• Motivate participants of all fitness levels and create a positive atmosphere.
• Provide equipment orientation and demonstrate proper exercise form.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe fitness areas.
• Monitor equipment, report maintenance needs, and enforce facility policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and address patron inquiries.
• Select music and design engaging class routines.
• Assist with special events, fitness challenges, and recreational programs.
• Respond to medical emergencies, providing CPR/AED assistance when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of fitness, recreation, or wellness experience (preferred).
• One year of group fitness instruction experience (preferred).
• Current fitness instructor certification from a recognized organization.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Valid passport with at least one year of validity and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements.
