Barber for U.S. Navy Program on Diego Garcia

About the role

We are looking for a professional Barber to provide grooming services for U.S. Navy personnel stationed on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role supports morale and welfare initiatives while maintaining Navy‑standard hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Cut, trim, taper and style hair using clippers, scissors and razors.
• Assess hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques.
• Perform shaving, beard and mustache trimming, scalp treatments and other grooming services.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace in line with industry and Navy standards.
• Recommend grooming products and address customer service needs.
• Manage and maintain grooming equipment and tools.
• Support morale and welfare initiatives for island personnel.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of professional barbering experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining after hire date and ability to travel internationally.
• Meet contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• Preferred experience in austere OCONUS environments with multinational workforces.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required visas.
